Setting up iCloud I get "Password Required for IMAP" then CalDAV then CardDAV, & below in yellow is says "Server says 'unauthorized'"

 I have tried all variations of username pswd &
 domain. What am I missing?

You need an app specific password for icloud.  see:

thank you!!! It worked.  Bc I didnt have 2 factor turned on, i assumed that didn’t apply to me.

Apple now requires it.
