Sent email going to inbox

In eM Client 8 all my sent emails are saved to my inbox as well as the sent folder, which I find very annoying, can I stop this happening? I am using gmail.

What you are describing seems like a misunderstanding of what the conversation feature displays.

Turn off conversations in Menu > View > Conversations > Disable Conversations.

Tried that Gary but it has had no effect

One thing you can do to confirm this, is login to your Gmail account using your web browser. Go to your Inbox and see if the sent messages are there. If they aren’t, go back to eM Client and make sure you are looking at the Inbox, not the All Mail folder. If the sent messages are still in the Inbox, remove the Gmail account from eM Client, then add it again.
