Selecting preferred copy with Dedup

Hi There,

It would be amazing having a setting with the dedup function allowing to select which copy of a duplicate to keep.

E.g. based on “received date” - Per default, dedup seems to keep the most recent version (received date). But I might want to keep the “older” copy.

E.g. based on folder tree depth - I might prefer keeping the copy being in a more top level folder (e.g. the “ingoing” IMAP folder). Or vice versa prefer keeping the copy being in a more subordinate folder (as it might have been processed and properly filed already).

Kind regards
Christian

correct me if I’m wrong but the only potential way to even approach dedup is using pop3, right?

Hmmm … no. Not with me.

I have 4 IMAP accounts in my eM Client, and the dedup function can dedup within any selected folder in any IMAP-sync’ed mailbox, or across folders, or selected folders across mailboxes.

The dedup runs locally, in your eMail client, on the local email copies, independent if pulled via POP3 or sync’ed via IMAP.

Best
