Search results not being found if keyword is in HTML description of a link

Hi,

I have a recurring problem where I try to search my emails for an item I purchased (e.g. “Zapper” in all folders for a fly zapper purchased from an online marketplace). I gmail I find the results come up but in emClient they do not. I have to always resort to logging on to my gmail to do searches which is not really what I want to be doing (i.e. use two mail programs).

Example below of the rendered HTML email in emClient and in Gmail:

Gmail:

The actual link behind the heading with the word zapper looks like: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11400.m43.l5919/7?euid=ae35b60d4e434b4c9ccc1a0362c710c4&bu=43092563231&segname=11400&crd=20200808022020&osub=-1~1&ch=osgood&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fvod%3Fitemid%3D154019988077%26transid%3D2051138342005&sojTags=bu=bu,ch=ch,segname=segname,crd=crd,url=loc,osub=osub

This is the emcleint rendering of the email - it really should be able to find this email if I search for “Zapper” in all folders…

em Client - If I manually find the corresponding email:

and.. this is the actual raw HTML in the message

Firstly just put Zapper without the quotes.

Also make sure you are searching “All Folders” in the dropdown field, and that you have checked "Subjects, Sender, Recipients, Notes, Body and Attachments in the search options.

Also sometimes “deselecting” Use server search can make a difference as well.

See the eM Client online documentation Search help below.

eM Client online Search documentation

https://www.emclient.com/webdocumentation/en/10.0/emclient/default.htm#Getting%20Started/Search.htm

Lastly eM Client might also not be finding all your Gmail account messages yet “if they have all not been fully downloaded”. You can check that by clicking “All Mail” under your Gmail account and then click “Refresh”. Then click the dropdown on the right of Refresh and click “Show Operations”.

Hi cyberzork,

Many thanks for all the tips. After playing with the settings the search now finds it

Not entirely sure which setting though as I changed all of the settings to other options and back again to “re-toggle” them so to speak.

Cheers,
Paul
