Just “upgraded” to eM Client Version 10 for Windows. The search function is not working for me. As everyone may or may not know, the Search icon is no longer in the upper right of the window. It is hiding. You have to hover over where it says Mail in the top of the right column. So, I found it, but it is not working. It returns nothing for me when I perform a search on a term within an email within the active folder. I did this as a test. This is an extremely important feature for me to hunt down emails.
Cancel what I wrote before. The magnifying glass at the top of the left column that shows when you hover above mail is not the Search function. It is a filter function. The Search field has been moved to the very top of the window. It is a little difficult to see, but it is there. For more on Search related to eM Client 10, scroll down to the topic on this page:
It is not at the top of my screen - anywhere! Just gone!
I would prefer to have the search bar position configurable. I was very used to have it at the right corner. Not sure if it really is a better place at the top.
Jeanine… I have attached a snippet of a screen shot of my eM Client window. See what is circled in red. That is where the Search field is on mine in Version 10. Does this show on yours?
it was better at the right corner
thx!! Without this, I neven would have found Search. it is not in the menus and not at the most predictable place. Bad UI design decision.
The search bar was moved to the top centre due to user feedback over many years.
However there is currently a Sleekplan suggestion for an adjustable search position on a right, left or centre which you can vote for via the below.
