Someone sent me an email, like: [email protected]. When I search for “from:sinan” f.i., it does not find this email, but it is part of the address. The sender is shown as “Andrew”.
I don’t know for sure, but this seems to be a recent bug.

Click the dropdown on the right of the search field and make sure you have checked “Subject, sender, recipients, body etc”.
If you already have that checked, then try unchecking “use server search if available” as in the example V10.3.x Search screenshot below.
If unchecking that still makes not difference, could be you might possibly need and eM Client update, where you can check via the release history page
Does not work for me even with the newest edition. Neither with the server search nor without it. I have to put “*” before and after the searched string which is annoying.
