I’m pretty sure this used to be available in eM Client in a search box at the top of the chat window. Now, from what I can tell, you have to go to the contact details to search “communication history” but that doesn’t ever show anything in chat history. Why was this feature removed? It’s very frustrating to have to go to the web or another client to search my chat history.
The chat history is in the “middle pane” as per the chat documentation extract below. See the link below for full information.

Ok it appears in V10 you can search Chat history via the “Search field” along the top as per the below search documentation. Have a read of that.

I think the point of my post has been lost. However, searching chat history isn’t going to work for our situation because we do not use one of the only three that it is available for.
The point of my original comment was the ease of searching chat history. To use the chat function, you have to be in the chat window. So why not include a search bar in the chat window to search chat history?

The devs then might add that back directly into the chat at a later date if it was there previously.
I can’t confirm if was directly searchable before as i’ve personally never used the chat myself, but others on this forum who have used the chat previously in V9 or older might comment on this.
Yes does seem to make sense to be able to search the chat history in the chat window directly.

We’re using SmarterMail for email and chat.
Suggest then to email [email protected] to see if Smartermail chat history search will be updated in the future. Otherwise support who also read these threads might post a comment.
