scrolling behaviour of inbox

The inbox scrolls to the latest message if the sorting order is ascending
so the latest message is at the bottom.
If the sorting order is descending it does not scroll at all.
I would like to see the latest message at the top if the sorting order is descending.

Just set the filter to “Descending” and “Received” then the latest message will be at the top.

If it’s set to received then you might have something going on with your external mouse scroll button if you use and external mouse.

or you might have a trackpad scroll setting that might need adjusting if you use a laptop.

or you might have an older version of eM Client that might need updating.

Do you have Windows or Mac and what OS ?

Also what version of eM Client are you using ?

Sounds like you want the Inbox to automatically scroll to the top when new mail arrives.

It’s by design currently that it doesn’t automatically scroll to the top of the inbox when new mail arrives “so you don’t loose your place in the message list”.

If you do want eM Client to automatically scroll to the top of the message list when new mail arrives, then there is already a few different suggestions you can vote for via the Sleekplan page.

You can also currently press the “Home” key to go straight to the top of the Inbox as a shortcut.

Or if it’s a Mac laptop without a Home key, press “Fn+left” keys.

My eM Client on Pc and Mac V10.4 “does not automatically scroll to the latest Inbox message even if Ascending / Received order” with the same eM Client version.

It has never automatically scrolled to the top of the inbox when new mail arrives with any version of eM Client that I aware of unless that’s changed recently due to as I said “is currently by design so you wont loose where you are up to in the message list”.

Everyone would expect this and every other mail client does that.

I personally would not like it to automatically scroll to the top of the Inbox. Not for everyone.

So you have to vote for that idea via then Sleekplan page which would be an option in Settings if that was implemented.

It should work and it works works for me normally. What OS do you have? What is your search column? Received? Can you make a video or at least shortcuts? That may help, as we are not able to reproduce it. Of course it scrollls to the newest message when you are at the end of the list and a new message is received.

Now I can’t reproduce it neither.
It’s currently working as expected.
No idea why.
