I somehow expected that on composing a new email autocomplete would only look into those contact “folders” that are checked (aka active?) in contact pane.
I got a lot of old contacts in imports/data files for historical purpose only. Those are listed in contacts pane only when checked, I expected them to be filtered for autocomplete accordingly. Or am I missing something (found no exact result in forum search)?

eM Client also uses the Receipients “from the sent folder” which you can disable to see if that is bringing up unwanted Receipients in the compose suggested list as per below via “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Compose”
You can also click “Show Recipients” if you want to delete any not wanted in the list.
