Saving my settings crashes eM Client

This is yet another issue I’ve encountered with the latest version: Every time I save my program settings, the programs crashes badly. i.e., it hangs and doesn’t react to anything I do. I have to kill the program in the Task Manager. The next time I start the program, I get the usual error warning and database check. I have tried saving to different locations, but that does not help.

I really don’t want to have to reinstall the program yet another time with no guarantee that things will improve. I have never had so many issues as with the latest version.

But before I can help first I have questions.

1./ What OS do you have?
2./ What version of eMC and is it Free or Paid?
3./ When you say “every time I save my program settings”
4./ Is this Backup or something else?
5./ Do you use POP or IMAP or both?
6./ Is the crash immediate or during the process?

Windows 11 Pro, latest version

I have the paid version, 10.4.4209.

This refers to the Save program settings button, which generates the file: settings.xml

5./ Do you use POP or IMAP or both?

I use only IMAP.

6./ Is the crash immediate or during the process?

The settings.xml file is generated and then everything suddenly freezes, i.e. stops working.

I recently reported a similar issue trying to save mails as EML files. I reinstalled the program, and it the problem disappeared until today–now it is back. I have never had such crashes before.

I do not know the items you select to save as xml so I selected
all as in image and then removed one at a time with saving each
time with and without encryption.

All procedures worked correctly until the last with only one item
selected and eMC froze, I also used Task Master to close.
Then after a system reboot the final item did export correctly.

So my suspicion is that there is possibly some sort of error in
eMC though perhaps my OS contributed to this.

In conclusion I suggest that you raise a ticket with eMC support
unless one of the moderators views this and can help.

About your EML export issue I previously reported to you that
I had exported with no issues.

The only other possibility I can think of might be PC capability
though this doubtful, I have two high spec laptops.
