Is there a way to save a mailbox in something similar to a .pst file? My Exchange mailbox is connected to emclient through auto setup. I’ve changed DNS hosting servers so the SMTP info is no longer working. Changing the DNS settings on the Exchange side is no longer possible. I’d like to keep the mail I’ve already got locally on my machine while breaking the SMTP (either to nothing or to the correct settings) so I don’t stupidly try to send mail from this account and have to deal with bounce back emails.
Yes if you have eM Client V10 you can click “Menu / Data Files” and create a (.emdf) data file externally in a hard-disk folder. By default it usually goes to your “Documents / eM Client” folder, but you can put it anywhere you like.
Once the data file is created, it appears under your email accounts (above local folders). You can then create mailbox folders under that data file to then drag / move anything into it from your accounts.
You can then either leave it permanently mounted or unmount it if you don’t want it allways there and mount it then anytime later.
