Running emClient on Android

Running emClient on Android. The notifications of individual emails dispays in the notification panel… But is there any way to click on a specific email notification so that it actually opens that email in the app? Right now, whichever email I click on just takes me to the unified inbox. Thanks!

is there any way to click on a specific email notification so that it actually opens that email in the app.

Normally when you first see the Android email notifications as in the first example screenshot below, when you press it, “that specific email will normally directly open” and doesn’t go just to the unified Inboxes. So strange that is doing that.

Also if you get multiple email notifications and the initial small notifications have gone, then you just normally swipe down from the top of your mobile and select the email you want to open as in the example below using Droid OS 14 and my Samsung mobile" which also normally directly opens that specific email" and doesn’t go to the unified inbox.

So if you are pressing either the small or large notifications and “it’s not opening that specific email” and is just going straight to the unified inbox, then could be something went wrong on the initial install of the app or something went wrong in the app since the app was installed.

So suggest to go to your Droid OS “Settings / Apps / eM Client / Storage” section and clear the cache and data. Then uninstall and reinstall the app from the Playstore and resetup as new, either using the Export QR Code from the eM Client desktop via “Menu / Tools / QR Export” Or manually setting up the app again if you don’t use the desktop app.

Note: If you do then get the email notifications opening the emails directly, then “save the eM Client mobile app settings” by going to “Menu / Settings / General / Import Export / Export settings to a file” and select all the options & save. That can then easily be restored directly in the app if you need to again in the future.

Now If it still doesn’t open the email directly via a complete clean brand new app install, could be then possibly “the Droid OS version that might need updating”, or possibly “something else installed on the mobile running resident might be interfering” with the email opening directly.
.
So if you still have the same problem after a complete reinstall, update in this thread your OS version and Droid mobile brand you are using just incase there is other users with that same issue.

Sadly, I cleared the data/cache and uninstalled/reinstalled, but the problem still exists when I click on the email notification… then I have to scroll through the global inbox to find that email and open it from there. I’m using a brand new Samsung Galaxy s24+ running Android 14 (updated version). There’s not much installed on it yet, so conflicts with other programs seem unlikely, but who knows. Any other help would be much appreciated.

Ok mine is an older S22 Ultra with OS 14 which should have pretty much the same default Samsung software, so is unusual that is happening. Hopefully someone else on this forum has a S24+ who has struck that same issue when eM Client notifications appear and can help you.

All i could suggest “as a last resort to try” is to eg: backup your mobile data and “do a factory reset of your mobile” and then try again with a new eM Client app install.

I had the same problem with emClient on my last phone, the Galaxy S10. Thanks for your help. Hopefully someone knows how to fix.
