Return to message list after deleting an email (don't open another message)

I would like to request a new option in the message deletion behavior.

Currently, under:

Settings → Mail → Read → After deleting a message, select:

the only available choices are:

  • Previous message
  • Next message

Please add a third option:

  • None (Return to message list)

Many users do not want eM Client to automatically open another email after deleting the current one. After deleting a message, the client should simply return to the message list and wait for the user to decide which message to open next.

This is especially useful when processing or cleaning large numbers of emails. Automatically opening the next or previous message forces unnecessary navigation and can lead to accidentally viewing or marking messages that the user did not intend to open.

Even with the reading pane disabled, eM Client still automatically selects and opens another message. Users should be able to disable this behavior completely.

Suggested new option:

After deleting a message, select:

  • Previous message
  • Next message
  • None

Absolutely. Same thing for other, similar functions such as “Move to folder”

eM Client 11 will have an option to “Don’t select first message” if you don’t want to automatically view the first message in the message list to then only view the next message when you want.
