EM Client continues to have issues with SMTP protocol usage with Microsoft servers and Hotmail accounts. Hopefully a product enhancement is in the backlog to address this utilizing newer auth methods that Microsoft prefers…
Remote server returned ‘554 5.7.0 < #5.7.520 smtp;550 5.7.520 Message blocked because it contains content identified as spam. AS(4810)>’
If I send a message with images or some html happens everytime… if I send the same email with the Outlook Desktop Client no issues at all…
Please request a feature request for revamped SMTP authenication / usage with Microsoft.
You do NOT say the version of eMC you are using, however,Thre is an
update that fixes the Microsoft Hotmail issue.
You can download HERE
You should make an eMC Backup before you upgrade: Menu>Backup
You should shutdown eMC BEFORE you install the update.
+++++ +++++ +++++ +++++
There is nothing in eMC that will cause a message you send to be marked as SPAM
As the message is being blocked it is a server issue.

Thanks… 10.4.4867 (a1d5549)
It is just strange that identical email composed in Outlook Desktop Client goes through and same exact email sent from EM Client 10.4.4867 (a1d5549) gets tagged as spam. I’ll try the update. Thank you
Tried the upgrade… performed the same task fwding same email from EM Client & Outlook Client. Outlook sends through to reciever but EM Client gets flagged using Microsoft SMTP server.

I have been getting this issue for some time with eM Client, but the same email works OK in Outlook. The new version of eM Client doesn’t fix this.
It seems to have something to do with embedded images, and particularly when copy/paste from another email is used. If you remove embedded images and make them attachments it seems to work.
554 5.7.0 / AS(4810) usually means there is something in the content of your emails that is causing the receiving server to block your email when sending via your SMTP server.
This can sometimes happen if you are eg: replying or forwarding an email from other people “where sometimes it has content in it that is suspicious” so gets blocked at the receiving end.
It can be “something in the header, subject or body of the email” or “even in an attachment” that the receiving server is rejecting due to its detecting it as possibly spam.
So if every email you send is getting this same rejected error returned “and removing and re-adding your account makes no difference”, then suggest you contact your SMTP Server technical support “via Webmail” to see why they are being rejected. You can export an example message in (.eml) format to send them to investigate via “Menu / File / Export”.
