I am getting repeating reminders after dismissing them in their popups.
They do go eventually.
I think this is by the “dismiss out of date” option but are annoying whilst they continue repeating.
Is this repeating a current known problem?
Check you have dismiss reminders for past calendar events checked via “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / General / Reminders”.
If you already have that checked, try disabling / unchecking that and save settings. Then go back in to Settings and re-enable and save settings.
If that makes no differance, then could be your eM Client version might need updating. If you originally installed eM Client from the website, then you can check for the latest versions for PC and Mac via the release history page.
I have that setting set. Using the release history page I found out I was one level below latest so have updated. Do you know if there is any way of me getting a notification of the availability of a new release or is there an automatic update option within eM Client?
Offical releases are normally automatically pushed to users or updated via the check for update manual option, where not all interim versions via the release history page are pushed incase of issues. There is no notification for all new interim release versions that im aware of.
So you have to go to the release history page if you want the newer interim versions. Also before updating to any later version, make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” if you don’t already do automatic periodic backups via Settings incase you need to restore for any reason.

My first test after update looks like its fixed but will keep an eye open for the next few days.
