Reducing time to check for errors

The power goes down here sometimes. And it takes three hours or so for emclient to check for database corruption. Is there anything i can do to speed that up eg. creating subfolders etc?

If you do regular eM Client backups either automatically via “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / General / Backup” or manually via “Menu / Backup”, then you could alternatively, cancel the database repair and restore a recent backup via “Menu / File / Restore”.

Taking 3 hours to do a database repair is very unusual. That could mean you more than likely have a problem with your database anyway and probably need to look at creating a new database.

Ps I used to live in a property where the power used to go off alot, where to avoid computer programs corrupting when the house power dropped, i bought a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) and plugged the computer into that, which then was able to keep the computer going for around 15-20 mins. So allows you then to power the computer off normally to avoid corruptions.

Thanks. A UPS is on the shopping list since we started getting more cuts.
I guess my database is big because it’s taking me about an hour to do a backup as well - but I have quite a few other processes competing for HDD time. So regular backups aren’t really an option. There’s about 15 years of mail in there.
