Reduce about of data

I need to reduce about of data on my c: drive. The EmClient database when made as a daily backup zip file is over 2gb so guessing the running database on C: drive is bigger. I have cleanout a lot of content inside emclient but its not making a difference to either my daily zip backup file or C: drive. Can anyone help, I have found old answers but nothing new or that works. I am running 9.2.2093

Database incorrectly bloated

IN downgrading from 10 to 9, I exported all my emails and imported them back in. My database was 66 gigs, but after importing and moving the emails to the correct folders, it made my database 100 gigs. In looking in my database I see the problem. Optimize Database?

I recently deleted a few thousand emails to speed things up in Emclient (POP3). But I believe my backup directory has not changed in size, and it still takes several minutes to refresh and for new messages to download. Is there a utility or something I can run to optimize the database to speed things up?
