Recent update has made EMClient unusable

I’m seeing an error message like this, non-stop. As soon as I clear one, another pops up. The program has become unusable since this update. Here is a screenshot.

Bueller… Bueller… Bueller? Am I the only one seeing this? Is there a way to go back to the previous version?

I’m seeing an error message like this, non-stop.

I’ve personally never seen that specific error in the forum so can only presume something went wrong either eg: with your physical connection to the remote mail server due to maybe an external problem, or you might have possible some resident program running in the background interfering, or you might have an actual mail database issue.

So first try power off your computer and modem router for eg: 2 minutes and turn back on and then try again and see if that makes any difference incase of a physical connection issue.

Next if you have any eg: optionally installed firewall security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpns, “other than what comes default with your OS”, try completely disabling those to test incase of interference.

Then if still a problem, if you have been making regular eM Client backups either automatically via the Settings or manually via the Menu, try restoring a recent dated backup via “Menu / File / Restore” when you know those errors weren’t there.

If you don’t have any eM Client backups but do backup your complete user profile regularly to another drive, then you can restore the previous eM Client hidden database folder instead.

See the following eM Client blog page on Restoring backups including partial restores.

“How to restore backup in eM Client”

Yes you can go back to the previous version.

If you originally installed eM Client from the website directly then “first close eM Client” and then “uninstall eM Client” and if you have Windows “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard.

Then go to the following eM Client hidden database folder and “rename it” to eg: eM Client-Old . Then download the previous eM Client version you had previously from the release history page below and reinstall and resetup as new.

“eM Client Release history page”

Then once you have eM Client working ok again, then “if there is any emails you need to retrieve from the old renamed database” you can do a partial restore via reading the Restore backup blog above “which explains that part way down”.

Lastly if installing a previous version still has the same error, then if you have a current active paid Pro, Personal or Business version suggest next to go to the VIP support page and login and lodge a support ticket for further assistance.
