Hi, my colleague is receiving emails with strange symbols instead of the Bulgarian language. This only happens in the eM Client. When he use another client, everything is fine. Does anyone know how this can be fixed?
Could be they have set the “Reading Font” to a eg: Hieroglyphics font. So get them to go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Read” and change to a different font like eg: Arial, Tahoma, Calibri etc and see if that fixes it.
Now if changing font’s doesn’t make any difference, then could be the “message is in a different language” and (not set to translate when emails arrive). So get them to also go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Translation” and make sure “automatic message translation is on”.
Note:- Its normally set to “Ask” to translate by default on each language.
Nope, it does not work the emails are still showing as symbols.
Then next suggest to try uninstalling eM Client and if they have Windows, “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard. Then re-download the same or later version via the release history page and reinstall and see if that fixes it.
Yes, the OS is Windows. I already tried that, but it didn’t work. By the way, this issue only occurs with complaints from Magento B2B. I think the problem might be on their end, but they said it’s probably related to the eM Client. I’ve tried almost everything I could think of, but nothing seems to fix it.
Ok if its only certain emails that are showing this, then could be some eg: non standard email format that eM Client then doesn’t recognise and the source of the the email would need to be checked out by support.
So if “you or your colleague” has a current active paid Pro or Personal version, go to the following VIP support page and login at the top left and submit a support ticket with either the source code or saved .eml file of an example message with that issue.
You can “right click in the body of the email to get the source”, or “right click in the body of the email and click save as” to save to a .eml file.
