Hi, I have tried using the QR export facility to transfer emails from desktop to my phone and iPad. It works…but only transfers emails for the last 14 days. Ideally I need all my emails going back months. Does anyone know how I can resolve this? Thanks
If you have an eg: IMAP account, using the mobile & tablet apps, go to “Menu / Settings”.
Then “Open your email account” and press “IMAP” under Services.
Then press “Sync time period” under Sync Options.
You can then change the Sync period anywhere from 1 day up to All Time.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I have already tried that, and the phone and iPad are both set to sync “all time”. Nothing has changed.

If it’s an IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud account and the missing emails “are showing online in webmail via a browser”, then “press on your Inbox” or whatever account folder is missing the messages and press “Properties” at the bottom. Then press the “Repair” option. That will clear the message cache locally in eM Client mob app and resync the messages from the server. If it’s a Gmail account you press on “All Mail”.
Now if the missing messages are in your desktop Local Folders “they won’t show on the mobile app”, unless you copy or move them back to your server account on your desktop to then sync with your mobile account. You can then copy or move those messages to the mobile app Local Folders.
Lastly if the missing messages still won’t sync to the mobile app, suggest next to email [email protected] for further assistance. Also let them know what version of eM Client desktop and mobile app you are using.
Thanks again for your detailed reply.
Before I try any of that, I have an update. Suddenly, last night, all my old “sent” emails returned on my phone and iPad. However, none returned in my inbox. I have checked the talktalk imap server settings and they are all correct.
Does this information change anything you have said? Thanks
If it’s “only your Inbox that’s missing messages” that are only showing on the server Inbox, then the missing Inbox messages could be in other “Inbox category tabs” if you have categories enabled.
So “look to the right of the Inbox” and see if there is any other Tabs such as eg: Other, Promotions, Social, Updates. if there is no other Inbox tabs, then yes I would try running the repair on the Inbox and then see if the Inbox messages update.
No luck yet with any of your suggestions unfortunately. I have emailed emclient but have yet to receive a response.
However I have also noticed something else. On the Samsung phone email app, when I click on email settings > general > manage folders, “inbox” is the only category greyed out and it won’t let me “ungrey” it. Could that be significant? Thanks
If you then go to “Favourites” at the top left in the app and click the “Unread” folder, do you see any of the missing messages prior to 14 days ?
If you don’t see the Unread folder, press “Menu / Edit” and enable Unread under Favourites…
Thanks again, but this didn’t work either
Ok that’s very strange. Hopefully mobile support can then help you or another forum member.
