The width of the message column on the left of the Mail pane seems to have a fixed value in an absolute manner. When changing the window size, especially when snapping the window to either of the halves of a screen, the size change is only applied to the mail body column on the right. This usually makes the mail body column highly narrow, making users hard to read the text.
Although users can manually change the width of the left column by dragging the vertical separator line, it would be great if the widths of the left and right columns of the Mail pane are saved as proportional values like 3:7.
Hello, I second this request. What is the status about this issue please ? This is a real pain when snapping or if working with multiscreens. This issue has been reported for years and nothing has changed since :(.
The width of the message column on the left of the Mail pane seems to have a fixed value in an absolute manner.
The left column “is not fixed” and “can be adjusted to the right as wide as you like” as in my below example screenshot. eM Client will also remember the widths when you close and reopen.
So could be possibly your eM Client version “might need updating” or it “might need uninstalling and reinstalling”.
So try the latest V9.2.2307 or V10.1.4588 via the release history page and see if that fixes it.
If you do update, close eM Client before updating and also make a manual backup via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason.
If you try do uninstalling and reinstalling eM Client and have Windows, “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard.
