Proper syncing on multiple devices

I can’t figure how to correctly set message syncing between my PC, tablet and phone. Problem is that it doesn’t respect deleted messages. If I deleted messages on any device, they’re not deleted from other devices. Basically, I need to remove every message 3 times! I did check the settings and all I found is “Remove from server when deleted from Deleted folder” (should be Trash folder, I guess). But this doesn’t solve the problem at all. I don’t delete messages from the Trash folder since they’re deleted automatically. And I do want to remove deleted messages from ALL devices when I deleted them on ANY device.

How hard is to add syncing of the Trash folder with “Remove from server when deleted from Inbox” option?

This is probably the only thing that currently bothers me in this overall very good email client.

With IMAP or Exchange, all eM Client does is show you a cached view of what is on the server, something like webmail.

In eM Client go to Menu > Accounts. If your account has an IMAP or Exchange tab, it will work like this. So delete a message in eM Client, then open webmail and you will see it is deleted there as well. Any other device syncing with the server should show the same as is in webmail. If it doesn’t, that is an issue with that device, not eM Client.

If you have a POP3 tab in eM Client, that doesn’t sync with server, so whatever you do in eM Client is not synced with the server. If you are using POP3 go to Menu > Accounts and click on Add Account, then enter the email address in the Automatic Setup. This will setup the account as IMAP or Exchange. When that is done, move any message from the old POP3 folders to the new IMAP folders (don’t forget messages in the Sent folder) and finally remove the POP3 account from eM Client.

Ah, so I should use IMAP to achieve this. That’s for the tip, will switch to IMAP and see if it works.

Be aware when using an IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud accounts, “all your mail is then stored on the server”, so check your server mailbox space to make sure you have enough room to store it there.

Eg: Some mailbox providers only give you 5GB free & then you pay per month to increase it.

  1. I see something strange in your description of POP3, because:
I am using POP3 at another e-mail program, and in configuration I can decide whether deleting a message from the Trash results in deleting from the server or not!
  2. I have just opposite problem  ! In eM Client I would like to be sure that after deleting a message from the Trash at one device It remains on the server, and is still available for another device. How should I configure eM Client (using POP3)?

If you want to keep mail on the server including server Trash with a POP account so it’s still then available to d/l on all your other devices (also configured with the same POP account), then you set up eM Client to “leave a copy of messages on server” for X amount of days (that you set), and “remove the check” that says "remove from server when deleted from deleted folder.

See example eM Client POP account below which will leave the mail on the server for 7 days including the trash before removing it from the mail server. You can obviously adjust these to suit yourself via “Menu / Accounts”.
