Problems with virginmedia.com email via IMAP rather than pop3

During initial install eMClient suggested a better way of accessing my virginmedia.com email via IMAP rather than pop3. I mistakenly accepted this change. After installation eM Client kept asking for a password to access my virginmedia.com mailbox and I could not access my email. I uninstalled eMClient and then reinstalled the program expecting the IMAP/Pop3 option/question to be asked again. The question was not asked during the second installation. What do I have to do to ensure eMClient asks the IMAP/Pop3 option/question at each install.
Considering changing from Outlook 2003 which currently works perfectly.

Hi,
I’m not aware of a pop-window that would ask you such question. eM Client supports IMAP settings by default, if you’d like to setup your account on POP3, you have to do it manually.
To do so, while you’re creating new account you have to switch from the automatic setup to the Mail tab right under the automatic setup tab, choose ‘Other’ and click next.

Then proceed with the setup, you should be able to setup your POP3 account.

However if you’re having any issues with the IMAP settings, could you post a screenshot of your IMAP settings from the Tools > Accounts window here on the forum so I can maybe see what’s behind this issue?

Thank you,
Paul.

Hello Paul.
Thank you for your help.
There is very definitely an option during set up where this question is asked.
I reinstalled eMClient for a second time and then I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove all the registry settings that eMClient left on my computer after it had supposedly been uninstalled.
I was finally able to install correctly the third time. I would be interested to hear from one of the eMClient programmers.

Hi,
if you have any questions for the developers, you can either post it here or send it to my email ([email protected]) and I can forward them.

Thank you for understanding,
Paul.
