Problems with Open-XChange caldav?

I use 123-reg.co.uk for hosting and they include caldav as part of the package.  I can easily sync this on my ipad/iphone but em client is resolutely saying the following:

I’ve checked the URL, username and password repeatedly and tried several permutations with no joy.  Is there a known problem?  If not can I send you the logs so you can see the socket traffic?  I’ve cut/pasted an excerpt from them below and if there’s a way of sending you the full logs am happy to do so.

Hello Rob, sorry to see this, are you able to authenticate with the provided credentials on http://dav.123-reg.co.uk/ if you access this address in your browser? Are you able to connect to the server using your browser?

Are you using any security software that may have disabled the applications ability to connect or authenticate with the server? The issue most likely seems to be an issue with the set of credentials you’re using since they’re claimed to be unauthorized for access. Is this your personal webDav server hosted on a private domain?

Regards,

Hi - I can authenticate by hitting the URL just fine.

I’ve disabled the firewall running on my computer, and I can (for example) telnet to port 80 on dav.123-reg.co.uk

Just tried again with a clean install of emClient, only created an account for the CalDav server, same result.

Hello, sorry for the belated reply, if you’re still experiencing this, is eM Client able to synchronise any items for example the folder list of your CalDAV account after setting up the Open-XChange account? All the information you’ve submitted suggest the authentication is not possible using the provided credentials…

What version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check the exact release number in Help > About?

Thank you,

Hi,

It appears to simply be that I had to use https instead of http for the url of the Open-XChange service.  It now appears to be working fine.

Regards,
Rob
