Hello. Since yesterday, I’ve been having problems downloading and sending messages with my hotmail.it and hotmail.com accounts.

I also have a screenshot to attach with the errors it’s reporting:

(airsync) email sending failed with error: VersionNotSupported

AirSync Synchronization error: VersionNotSupported

I’ve already deleted and reinstalled the accounts, but the problem hasn’t resolved.

See @Filip_Navara post below on this issue and have to use your webmail for now till new update.

OK, fine, but… how can I work with Hotmail accounts, and how and when do you plan to solve the problem?

You will need to use your Hotmail webmail “via a browser for now” until the fix is implemented.

how and when do you plan to solve the problem?

See @Michal_Burger post below from the below thread.

So if you originally installed eM Client from the website, then the new updated version when released will be on the release history page unless its automatically pushed out.

Hi Kim
What should I do with the link?
It asks me to download it… where should I download it?

Regards
Luca

When you click on the link it will normally download to your Windows or Mac profile “downloads folder” viewable in either File Explorer (Pc) or Finder (Mac)

After it downloads “usually at the top right of the browser” if you hover your mouse to the far right of the completed download file you will have an option to open the folder / location it went to.

Then just make sure eM Client is closed and then dblclick the file to start the installation.

Good morning. I have a problem… when I open the file it tells me I have to update the license and log in again. I would like to send a screenshot, how can I do that?

I didn’t continue agreeing to pay for a new version and now I can’t open the EDm client program anymore!!

I followed the instructions and downloaded it after closing the program, but in the end it asked me to accept and pay for a new version. I own “Pro license”, which I paid for some time ago.

How can I send you a screen shot?

What version of eM Client did you previously before ?

Also did you originally install eM Client directly from the website or the Windows store ?

Also have been making regular eM Client backups ?

the version in v9.2.1628
Ihave download from the website
no, I have not make backups…

I’m also currently having a serious problem: I can no longer open a client.
I paid for an Em Client 9 Pro license on March 8, 2023. I absolutely need to be able to open and use the client again.
Please help me.

You should always make eM Client backups incase you need to restore for any reason. Suggest you do that in future either automatically via the “Menu / Settings / General / Backup” or regularly via “Menu / Backup”. if you backup manually you can see when thats completed in Show Operations via the dropdown on the right of Refresh.

So as you now have the latest V10 installed if you don’t want to upgrade to a new V10 license then see the following eM Client support article below on how to downgrade back to V9.

How can I downgrade back to eM Client 9, eM Client 8 or older?

Note: These same steps can be used to downgrade from a BETA version to the current eM Client official version - just uninstall the BETA and reinstall current version from the website

Our databases are not backward compatible for older versions and once you upgrade your database to accommodate the new version, you cannot just simply install an older version over it.

If you have a backup of your database from eM Client 9 or older you can skip any export. If not, you will need to export local data before the downgrade to keep them.

For accounts set up with IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud this is not an issue, as setting these accounts as new will synchronise messages and folders back from the server.

For POP accounts and any data in Local folders, export them first via Menu > File > Export and once you downgrade, you can import them back via Menu > File > Import.

The steps to downgrade on Windows are to:

  • Export any local data you need to keep (Menu > File > Export)
  • Uninstall eM Client 10
  • Either delete the database or rename it
  • Install your preferred older version of eM Client (You can find older versions in our Release history)
  • Restore from the backup (Menu > File > Restore) or create your accounts anew and import your local data back in (Menu > Accounts, Menu > File > Import)

If you want to just rename your database, the default location is in C:\Users%username%\AppData\Roaming\eM Client

The steps to downgrade on macOS are to:

  • Export any local data you need to keep (File > Export)
  • Uninstall eM Client 10
  • Either delete the database or rename it
  • Install your preferred older version of eM Client (You can find older versions in our Release history)
  • Restore from the backup (File > Restore) or create your accounts anew and import your local data back in (eM Client > Add account, File > Import)

If you want to delete or rename your database, the default location is in /Users/User Name/Library/Application Support/eM Client

If you upgraded by accident and aren’t sure if you need to downgrade manually, please see the article on this topic - This version of eM Client is newer than what your current license permits.
