Problem getting new email

When I click on refresh the bottom left screen says Connecting after a few seconds it faults out. This started a few days ago. I don’t have a problem with an Internet connection. All my settings seem to be fine. Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong.

please post here part of the log from Menu > Tools > Operations once this happens.
However, it seems more as a server-side issue so, at the same time, I’d recommend contacting your mail-server provider.
