Pro license, but registered only on one computer

Hello.
The program is installed on your home computer. “Pro” license. I bought two laptops and wanted to install them on them. Installed one, registered it, the license on the computer disappeared. I read that this can happen with a basic license. But I have “Pro”. Must be installed on multiple computers. Or did I understand something wrong?

If you have only activated the Pro license “on one computer” and the license disappeared after activating, that could possibly be a eg: program installation glitch somewhere, or.possibly an eg: os glitch. Ive never personally seen that before with any version of eM Client.

I would suggest to try closing and reopening eM Client or try rebooting your computer. Failing that try uninstalling eM Client and if you have Windows “dont delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard and then try reinstall the same version from the release history page.

As far as the licenses go, a Pro license only entitled you to install eM Client on one computer. So if you install it on a second computer and use the same license, it will normally automatically deactivate the first computer. To switch back to the first computer you would then deactivate the second computer and then reactivate the first computer.

There is now a new Personal version that you can purchase which entitles you to install eM Client on 3 devices as per the Pricing page either as a One off Payment or a Subscription,

If you run a business there is also options to purchase a multi device license for whatever amount of computers you need also via the pricing page.

Thanks for the clarification. Good luck to you.

No, I still don’t understand. There are three types of license - free, personal and for business: Pricing | The best email client for Windows and Mac | eM Client - this is clearly stated here. That is, once again - free for one computer, personal for three, and for business - as much as you buy. I bought in 2022:

Activate your

PRO license!
Dear user,
Thank you for choosing eM Client for your email management.

Maybe in 2022 there was a “Pro” license and it was only valid for one computer, but now the licenses are different? I didn’t see “Pro” on the pricing page - only free, personal and for business. Is this the point? Or maybe “Pro” is for business, and I bought it for one computer? The letter with the serial number says nothing about this.

Yes the Pro license at that time up to the end of June 2024 “only entitled you to install eM Client on 1 device” with the full features unless you bought extra pro versions at that time.

So if you you are trying to activate your single Pro license on more than one computer at the same time it won’t work, and you will have to deactivate and reactivate the license when you are switching between computers as advised previously.

I didn’t see “Pro” on the pricing page - only free, personal and for business.

The Pro version has been replaced with the Personal version which is why it’s not there.

In July 2024 when V10 was released, eM Client introduced a new Personal version which then as I advised previously allowed you to install eM Client on 3 devices rather than only 1 device.

So if you are not a Business user and want to install and activate eM Client “on no more than three computers”, then the Personal is good value.

Or if you want to just buy an additional Pro license “for your current version” and don’t need more than 2 devices, then you can do that via the following page.

“Expand your eM Client license”

https://www.emclient.com/add-devices

Lastly the free version is for personal (non business use), and can be used past the initial 30 days, but only allows 2 accounts and has limited features.
