POPSTATE-XXXX.DAT

After Thunderbird import there are 1000’s of popstate-xxxx.dat files under 4 email accounts.

Hi is there an easy way to delete these as most of them are empty with a few showing similar information to text below;

A multi select would be handy as I cannot delete several thousand of these one at a time.
Other than that this looks like an ideal replacement for Thunderbird, and if I can get this problem tidied up I can purchase the full version

UPDATE
After looking at Thunderbird these files are imported from there and nothing to do with em client.
But would still be nice how to remove them…

.

Hi Bob,
are you using an IMAP or a POP account with eM Client? If you’re using a local data account, my best suggestion would be removing your account from eM Client and import all your data (including folders again).

Using the Import from Thunderbird should allow you to select which folders will be imported into eM Client, check if these are visible and make sure to deselect them before importing. Unfortunately there’s no option to delete multiple folders at once using the current setup.

Thank you,
Paul

Hi Paul
Is there a rule to select popstate-???.dat and then delete?
The email accounts are Pop accounts

I have found the popstate entries in the Em folders.dat as below. Id there a way of editing this manually?

/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1000.dat "G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1001.dat¡"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1002.dat¢"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1003.dat£"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1004.dat¤"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1005.dat¥"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1006.dat¦"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1007.dat§"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1008.dat ̈"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1009.dat©!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-101.data"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1010.dat«"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1011.dat¬"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1012.dat"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1013.dat®"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1014.dat ̄"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1015.dat°"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1016.dat±    à  Ã æ +Nq”·Úý Cf‰«Îñ5Wy›1⁄2Þš1⁄4ÞÙéééé°Å!E/"G/ACCOUNT"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1018.dat3"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1019.dat ́!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-102.dat"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1018.dat3"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1019.dat ́!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-102.datμ"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1020.dat¶"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1021.dat·"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1022.dat ̧"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1023.dat1"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1024.dato"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1025.dat»"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1026.dat1⁄4"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1027.dat1⁄2"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1028.dat3⁄4"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1029.dat¿!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-103.datÀ"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1030.datÁ"G/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-1031.datÂ!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-104.datÃ!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-105.datÄ!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-106.datÅ!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-107.datÆ!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-108.datÇ!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-109.datÈ C/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-11.datÉ!E/ACCOUNT:10/popstate-110.datÊ

The folders were not visible in Thunderbird so went into the appdata folder and deleted them manually then re-imported which was much easier than trying to delete all the folders.

Glad it works, please make sure to let us know if you come across any future issues or questions about the application, we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you,
Paul
