I am finding difficulty in setting up my gmail account in with pop3 settings. I go to new account set-up in manual mode (by pressing on Others). enter details of account username (my email) and password. Pop3 server as pop.gmail.com and smtp server as smtp.gmail.com. After this the setup process should go to Gmail’s auth page for authentication, but it keeps trying unsuccessfully on its own platform. Hours of trying - and no results.
In gmail settings I have enabled third party less secure app to ON and pop3 access is also enabled.
I am able to access the same account with POP3 setting on my thunderbird.
Does eMClient actually support gmail’s pop account setup or it just provides imap setup only.
EM Client only current supports IMAP Gmail setups “as per Google changes some years ago” with Legacy POP Accounts.
So you need to setup your Gmail account using the “Automatic account wizard” at the top of “Menu / Accounts” which will then setup an IMAP Gmail account using an OAuth token connection. See eM Client documentation for setting up a new account via this lin below.
There is a roundabout unsupported way you can try. If you say it works fine in your Thunderbird app, you can try to import the account from there.
Just go Menu - File - Import - Thunderbird and select your account
Although I agree with what has been posted by @cyberzork, it is nevertheless possible
to setup eMC with POP3 for Gmail even though it is not officially supported - both my
daughters have this configuration that works fine.
¡Buena suerte!
