When editing a message with the intention of applying a color to non-contiguous words it is necessary every time and for each word to click on the icon, then choose the color.
(One has to go even deeper if one wants to apply a color different than the faded colors in the default palette, for instance to choose a definite bold color like Basic Blue),
It would save a lot of mouse clicking if, once selected, the chosen color would persist so that clicking on the A icon will apply that color to other selected words, in the same message…
Same concept should apply to the alignment icon, even though this is less of an issue.
