Password Required Spam


I have only been using 1 email account until recently, I added the account without any errors, however shortly after adding the second email, I get a pop up window with “Password Required” I enter the correct email address and password, I get no error when clicking OK, just the window keeps popping back up. I have 110% made sure what I have entered is correct. I can send emails but not receive them.

If it helps, my original email address is a Hotmail account and the second address is a work email i believe is hosted via outlook.

EDIT: Now any mail I send is getting sent to junk email from the second account.

Any help?


Hi Jackson, not completely sure what you’re referring to, what version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check the exact version number in Help > About?

Are you seeing any errors thrown by the application? If so, can you please make a screenshot of the error and submit it to us here on the forum?

I don’t see any Errors, only a recurring pop up of this:

My client is Version: 6.0.21372.0

EDIT: I can send and receive emails. And ive figured out this only pops up when I Send and Receive emails or click the button for it. But it does not go away when I click OK still. Just continuously keeps popping back up.

hi again Jackson, please try to update your eM Client to this release, and check if the issue persists?

If it does, please navigate to Tools > Settings > Advanced and enable IMAP logging for the problematic account, 

  1. Save the settings
  2. Restart the application 
  3. Replicate the issue
    Once the error reoccurs, can you please go back to the advanced settings window and submit the logs to us using the “Send logs” button?
