Outlook - not receiving emails

Hi all
Not receiving outlook emails and getting this message-
[AirSync] Synchronization error (SyncStateNotFound)

Is this the same issue we had in Feb 23?

Not receiving outlook emails and getting this message-
[AirSync] Synchronization error (SyncStateNotFound)

You shouldn’t be getting Airsync errors.

Could be an old version of eM Client that needs updating, or you may need the account removing and re-adding in eM Client since updating. Or could just be a mail server connection error between you and the mailbox at the server end.

So first off try disconnecting and reconnecting your internet, and then close and reopen eM Client and see if you still get the airsync error.

If you still do get the airsync error, check what version of eM Client you are running via the eM Client menu dropdown. You can check for any new PC / Mac updates via the release history page.

If you already have the latest version of eM Client then suggest to try “removing and re-adding” your account via the automatic email wizard setup in “Menu / Accounts”, and see if that resolves the problem.

Note: - If you do either update eM Client to a later version or remove & re-add your account, backup eM Client first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete via clicking “Show Operations” in the dropdown menu on the right of refresh top left.

Hi
Thanks for that. I’ll give it a go.

Hi
Gave it a go as you suggested - no joy.
eMC is up to date, I deleted & re inserted eMC on my Outlook settings. eMC was working ok yesterday.
Getting emails with no issues on Thunderbird -maybe time to use as my default.

Ok as you have the latest eM Client version and removing and re-adding the Outlook account made no difference, then might be something possibly wrong then in your Acct Outlook settings.

Go to “Menu / Accounts” and highlight your Outlook account and then click the “General” tab and “IMAP” tab and SMTP Tab and check what settings you have there. The below screenshots are what works in my Outlook acct.

Now if you already have the below settings, then other things that can cause connection errors are eg: Optional installed Firewalls / Security programs, Optional Antivirus programs and VPN’s. So if you have any of those try completely disabling those to test.

Hi zyberzork

Thanks for your reply and time - much appreciated.
My eMC settings are exactly like yours.
I stopped my AVG firewall & email shield and tried to send/receive emails without success. Haven’t had any AVG update since yesterday when eMC was working.
However, now I cannot send emails -no probs as I’ve now set up Thurnderbird.
Thanks again
Regards

However, now I cannot send emails

Check also the SMTP tab settings which i forgot to include in my screenshots above. Now updated in that post.

Hi zyberzork
You did kindly include SMTP and mine are the same as yours.
I don’t understand why eMC worked on Mon on 2 laptops with different Outlook emails and not from Tues! No AV updates since Tues.
As I said earlier ‘thunderbirds are go!!’

Ok great you got that working now.

I would recommend though to use Port 993 for the IMAP Port as Port 143 normally doesn’t provide any encryption. Port 993 is the secure port for IMAP and it works fine over TLS/SSL encryption.

Ps Ive tested that Server Address outlook.office365.com with my Outlook account and also works fine with IMAP Port 993. You just set the Security Policy to "Use SSL/TLS on Special port (Legacy) in eM Client as per screenshot example below.

Microsoft do also recommend Port 993 with the IMAP Server outlook.office365.com as per below link.
POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings for Outlook.com - Microsoft Support

Thanks for that info. I changed from Port 143 to 993 & from Forced to Legacy security as you suggested.
My emails were sent and received on my phone & Thunderbird, but didn’t show in ‘Sent’ or ‘Inbox’ in eMC when I replied on my phone! As soon as I reversed from 993 to 143 they appeared in eMC!
I’m going to leave it as it is.
Thanks again
