Outlook calendar event update

I found this thread but no reactions:

Calendar Invite from MS Outlook will not process modifications or event updates

When an event sent by someone using Outlook/Exchange is updated or modified, I get an email about the change to the event but when I accept the updated invitation the event and any future events (if it is reoccurring) disappear from the Calendar. I have to download the event .ics file and open it in EM Client to have it reappear. 

Is there any update about it? It’s pretty unpleasant when changes appear initiated by Outlook users and they don’t reflect in the calendar
