New setup in the past week. The outgoing SMTP code given to us by AT&T doesn’t work. I ran a fix in the diagnostic and it can’t find one that works. I got the POP3 to work by changing from their current port setting of 993 to the old 995 Running a fix confirmed that change…So now we get incoming, but nothing on outgoing. I did try the old SMTP (outgoing.att.mail) but that didn’t work. The 465 port on POP3 has been unchanged forever.
My wife is on on the legacy sbcglobal.net, but that does not seem to be a problem as it has been converted into AT&T.
We are using e M Client 8.2 and Windows 7. Even though it says that 8.2 works with 7 that might be the problem. We imported from 2007 Outlook with no problem. My wife is the primary user and she is really on me to get this fixed, help.
Gary,
Thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately I have tried them all with no success. Running “fix” in the diagnostics covered what seem to be every port and host possibility without success. I am still set up with port 587 and Force SSL/TLS.
Thank you so much for your attempt to be of assistance.
Is there a chance that 8.2 has some kind of bug in it? I keep reading about people returning to version 7 and I am wondering why.
Googling AT&T SMTP server settings most peeps use that work are the below.
Outgoing email server - smtp.mail.att.net
Port - 465
Server requires SSL is selected
Outgoing server requires authentication is selected
Use the same username and enter your password to send and receive email.
Today my outgoing mail, which is based on Yandex.ru, stopped working.
I cannot send outgoing mail from my two corporate addresses.
If you have any changes, can you give me new SMTP settings to help me set up outgoing mail?
I attach the error screen.
I have version 6.0.24985.0
I always check for updates, but the program does not offer me any updates.
