I really appreciate the ability to color-code emails using labels, but I would like more flexibility in how they are displayed in the message list.
Currently, when I apply a label, the colored tag appears before the subject line, which takes up space and can be distracting. However, I still want to use the label color to highlight the email text itself (subject and/or sender).
Would it be possible to add an option to:
Apply the label color only to the text in the message list, without showing the tag before the subject?
Display labels in a separate column, similar to categories, so they can be toggled on or off?
This would improve readability and organization, and I believe many users would appreciate this flexibility.
Are there any plans to implement this in future versions?
Sure, attached is the screenshot. The rule-based approach works great, but the label appearing before the subject text is quite distracting. If it could be placed in a separate column that can be moved or hidden, that would be perfect.
I’m currently still using Thunderbird, where I was also able to solve this with rules. There, an account can be assigned a color, and this color can be used for the subject text. That solution works fine for me.
However, I’m not satisfied with some features in Thunderbird—for example, the search often fails to find emails that are actually there, among other issues.
That’s why I’m looking to switch to eM Client, but color coding is essential for me to quickly distinguish emails by account.
I don’t know of any adjustment for that coloured tag label size or label text size etc in Settings that you specifically want. If there is a way, someone will update this thread.
Might need a Sleekplan suggestion for that and maybe link this thread to that.

You can however move the tag / label column location / position, by “right clicking” on a column & choose “Columns Configuration” along the top.
Or remove the tag / label if you don’t want it showing at all. Then re-enable when needed.
That works perfectly. When I add “Tags” as a column, the tags before the subject disappear and are instead shown as an icon in their own column. This is exactly what I was looking for!
