I had no messages in my inbox this morning, so I checked my Gmail account in the browser. Sure enough, 2 messages arrived early this morning (5 hrs ago).
Okay, I figured. I’ll just move them out of the Junk folder and whitelist the email addresses–but they were not in the Junk Folder.
They weren’t in my Inbox. They weren’t in Trash. And they weren’t in Junk. Where else could they be?
I checked “All Mail”. Sure enough, there they were, right at the top.
At that point, I wanted to know where in the heck they were hiding.
But a right-click displayed no option like “Open Folder” or “Open Location”.
So I tried moving them to the Inbox, and was surprised when I didn’;t find them,
That’s when (at last), I saw the tabs at the top of the Inbox folder.
There they were, in the “Promotions” tab.
I’m not arguing with the location, or even with the interface.
But this is the only email client I’ve ever used that has Inbox tabs.
So an “Open Location” option would have been helpful.
Yes Gmail online via the browser have been using Inbox tabs for years by default unless you had turned them off online, so when eM Client 10 was released, it also on the installation by default if you choose the “Recommended option” also enabled Category Inboxes with Primary, Promotions, Social etc. There is also different types of mail accounts that have only Primary and Other Inbox tabs.
So as you have Inbox Categories now enabled in your Gmail account, you can either move the emails in the Promotions back to the eg: Primary Tab, where in future those senders emails will always go to the Primary Tab, or if you don’t want Category Inbox tabs enabled, you can disable them.
