Open Email Losing Focus IOS - iPad

An annoying issue:

I have an email opened in em client which I am using to reference some content. However, when switching to another app and then back to the opened email it closes down the email and goes back to the top of the inbox!

This is infuriating as the whole point is I want the email to remain open and where I left it. What is going on? Why? If I wanted to close it and go to the top of my inbox I would do it myself. Please fix this bug as soon as possible.

I carn’t replicate that issue with my iPhone using the iOS app store version 10.2.1754 or the latest Beta version 10.3.2242 and iOS 18.5

What version of iOS app are you using ?

Also have you already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app ?

If you don’t have the Beta version “and want to try that”, go to “TestFlight” on the app store and you can signup to test the Beta.

If you haven’t already tried uninstalling and reinstalling either the current version or Beta version, then suggest to do that and see if that fixes it. After reinstalling, if you have eM Client for desktop go to “Menu / QR Export” to re-setup the iOS app settings & accounts etc automatically.

Lastly if uninstalling and reinstalling the app makes no difference “even with the Beta app”, then suggest to email [email protected] for assistance.

I should of added that this is an iPad specific issue as far as I can see. This is running IOS 18.5.

How to reproduce Bug:

  1. From EM Client, select and open an Email other than the first email.
  2. Use finger on bottom centre of Ipad bar on screen to view open apps
  3. Select another App
  4. Repeat Task Switch gesture to show open Apps again, then select EM Client.
  5. Although it will show the same email when in task-switch view, as soon as you actually select the EM Client app to switch to it, the email you had open in the App will close and return to the first email at the top of the list.

Quite infuriating. Does not seem to do this on iPhone, just iPad.

No I still carnt reproduce that following your post above on my eg: M1 iPad with iOS 18.5 with the Beta version V10.3.2242

Diid you try uninstalling and reinstalling the app ?, and do you have the latest Beta version V10.3.2242 ?

Also what model iPad do you have ?

So I have installed TestFlight and the Beta App, no difference at all, still does it.

Then you will either need to wait to hear back from mobile support via their email address [email protected], or alternatively wait for the next Beta update “which is not far away” from what Ive read lately on this forum.

So just an update, still not fixed in the latest beta as of 14/08/25. Note this behaviour is happening on iPad 10 with latest IOS and now Beta IOS 26.0. It does not happen on iPhone.

TLDR: Click any email, task switch in iPad to another App, task Switch back to EM Client, previously selected and displayed email is closed and eM Client returns to top of Inbox to first email.
