Not receiving all email

11/18 began not receiving all emails from Yahoo Mail. Today (11/19/2024) Received 60 emails from Yahoo Mail on my phone in the inbox and 9 spam; through eMClient I received only 5 emails in the inbox and the 9 spam; missing 55 emails just since midnight. I made no changes to eMClient. Also, after upgrading I lost all my contacts and using info provided for another user on this forum, I backed up, then deleted my account and then added it again. Still not receiving all emails and still no Contacts.

When you received the 5 emails and 9 spam in em client, did those messages also appear on your phone? Any chance you have POP mail instead of IMAP. Another possibility is perhaps deleting once downloaded so messages only appear on the first device to check for email? If you have a another email address to use for testing, can you send yourself test messages, perhaps a pattern will emerge that will point to the problem.

Hey, Tony. Thanks for the reply. When I took the advice from before and deleted the acc’t then added it back, I no longer show anything in spam or trash. I still show the same in the inbox. The 5 emails in the inbox also showed on my phone; 1st 2 were the 1st 2 in both places, then 35 emails on my phone before the next email showed in eMClient, then 2 more on phone, then 1, then 21, then 12 including yours. In the eMClient menu under settings the box is checked that says download messages from POP3 on startup; under accounts/IMAP/host it says imap.mail.yahoo.com. I don’t have any other email account. Now I also have no local folders, still no contacts and nothing in trash or junk mail.

I’m new to em client. But a place to look is to see on your phone and in em client for the option, with POP mail settings, to retain messages on the server for X days. then both devices will have a chance to retrieve the message. If you are on both devices daily, the setting say a 7 day retention should cover you. I’m wondering if one of the devices (the one with POP settings) is deleting messages from the server before the other device gets a chance to check.

Others will have to chime in on “download messages from POP3 on startup” in em client, I’m not sure if that has the function of removing downloaded messages from the server.

Thanks again, Tony. I can’t find any place to set a retention time on the computer or the phone. Since no one from eMClient has ever responded to my concerns, I guess I am going to use Yahoo Mail on both for the time being and maybe buy Office 2021 (with Outlook) which it appears that they are selling again (no subscription, like 365), If MS had stayed with the “old school” method of being able to buy Office rather than a monthly subscription, I would still be using it. That is when I went looking for a freebie and found eMClient, which, up to now has worked pretty well.
