Not possible to configure company email address

I want to add my company email address but its not possible

email: [email protected]

IMAP + SMTP = mdx.company.com
IMAP Port 993

SMTP Port 465

In Thunderbird its possible to add the address with no problems
When i try exchange version instead of imap i cannot define the ports
Any help ?

To manually setup an Exchange account, go to “Menu / Accounts”. Then click “Add account” and click the “Mail tab” and you can choose either Exchange or Other where you can then manually specify all the server settings & ports etc.

i tried both ways but it dont work

What IMAP & SMTP Security policies are you specifying ?

The port and security policy pairs are specific as @Gary advised in another thread. If you want to set them manually, they are as follows:

SMTP
Port 587 = Force usage of SSL/TLS
Port 465 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 25 = Use SSL/TLS if available

IMAP
Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 143 = Use SSL/TLS if available

If you have tried the above IMAP or Exchange setups manually an still won’t work, then if you have a current active Pro or Personal version, go to following VIP support page and login and lodge a support ticket.

ok…before i try the vip support i will show the settings on thunderbird that i want to use on emclient. Which steps are needed to do this on emclient ?

The below is normally what you use for an IMAP SSL connection for ports 993 & 465 in eM Client.

IMAP
Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)

SMTP
Port 465 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)

Apart from the ports and security policies, if your server "doesn’t support OAuth token passwordless logins using the normal automatic account wizard, then It might need a eg: “Two factor App password generated for eM Client” from your mail account online instead of your normal password “when you are manually adding it in eM Client”.

So that could explain why it fails to work in eM Client but works ok in Thunderbird depending on if you have 2FA authentication setup your end.

Apart from that, click the drop-down on the right of Refresh and click “Show Operations”. Then click the “Log tab” and look for any obvious error messages and paste them in this thread. We might possibly then see what’s wrong.
