My eM Client has not been able to connect to my Bellsouth email account which is serviced by Yahoo since April 19th. I am still able to access my account via my iPhone and the Yahoo website. Prior to April 19th, eM Client had been working flawlessly. I have run the Diagnostics repeatedly with no success.
eM Client is still successfully processing my Hotmail account.
You might need to replace your main password with one specifically created for eM Client. Please read more about App passwords (and how to create one) here - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN15241.html
Once you have the new password just go to Menu > Accounts in eM Client and replace your password in the settings tabs for your Yahoo account. Donât forget the use the âSave & Closeâ button to save these changes.
I followed the link you posted above, it took me to the ATT account sign-in page, then to the Access & Security page where there is no place to click âGenerate app passwordâ? Where do I get an app password generated? Iâve never had to go through this many obscure steps to link my account before when installing eMClient. Can you help me? Or do I need to contact (somehow) ATT and/or Yahoo? Who can help me?
do I need to contact (somehow) ATT and/or Yahoo? Who can help me?
Yes I would suggest to contact your mailbox providor whether that be ATT or Yahoo as they will have the app password setup in specific pages âthat we donât know on this eM Client forumâ. Once you got that then you can put in the generated App password from your specific mailbox page into eM Client as @Gary advised above.
