Not connecting to Outlook on Windows 10

After adding MFA to Outlook account, authorization fails. Clicking reauthorize in the client does not work. When authorizing or accessing email, a notice window pops on the client saying it may take a while (not a clear message) and a browser window on Microsoft opens asking to confirm I am logging into eMClient. I do confirm. The browser window stays the same, and the notice window in eMClient goes away, but nothing happens.

In account settings, authentication is set to “Use identity credentials”

You can no longer use username/passwords for login to Microsoft hosted email accounts like Hotmail, Live, MSN, Outlook.com etc.

If you have an autnetication section in your account setting, please see: Microsoft disables Basic authentication for all accounts | eM Client

Thanks for the link to the article. I tried to add my account again to EMclient (so I would have a duplicate) but I end up in the same dead-end. I get to the last screen in eMClient account setup where I hit the Finish button. When I do, it opens a browser window saying “Are you trying to sign in to eM Client?
Only continue if you downloaded the app from a store or website that you trust.” with cancel or continue buttons. I click continue and eMClient is popped to the top, but nothing happens. The account window is still open on the Finish screen, the new account isn’t created yet. And, whenver I do anything in eMClient, that browser window gets popped. Do I need to delete the Outlook account from the client first?

OK It’s working now. Not sure how to recall my last post. In any case the solution was (apparently) for me to open and log into outlook in the browser before reauthenticating. It then prompted me for my auth code before presenting the annoying continue window. Hopefully it will stay working now that it has a credential.
