I am really fed up, i am not gable to recive my gmail mails on eM client whereas i am able to send mails, secondly when i close eM and open i am able to receive those gmail mails. why is that so?

are you getting any error messages? I presume you are using IMAP - if so, send us your IMAP logs please and I will be able to advise you further.
