Since eM Client updated yesterday, a Windows dialog titled “Microsoft Outlook” appears every time eM Client launches. It says there is no default mail client, or that the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. It only appears when eM Client starts, with all other applications closed.
Details:
I installed eM Client using the .appinstaller (packaged) version from your website, and I have been using it for a long time without this problem.
eM Client is set as my default mail app in Windows, but the “make default” button in Settings > General > Default Programs is grayed out.
I ran Repair from Windows Settings > Apps > eM Client > Advanced options. The dialog still appears.
I switched the default email app in Windows to another program, restarted, switched back to eM Client, and restarted. The dialog still appears.
I removed the iCloud Outlook add-in and ran fixmapi. No change.
In the registry, HKLM\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail has (Default) = eM Client but no eM Client subkey beneath it. I understand the packaged version may register differently, so I’m not sure this is relevant.
Could you tell me how the packaged version is supposed to register as the MAPI/default mail handler, and how to fix this? If there is a way to roll back to the previous version or get a standard installer, please let me know.
My Windows version is: Windows 11 Home, Version 25H2 and eM Client version is: 11.0.1201 (c416881)
