New one-keyboard shortcuts in V10.2

The new one-key Shortcuts are excellent. Well done to the team implementing those.

Useful one-key shortcuts

These shortcuts make it easier to quickly perform specific actions with your keyboard only:

  • M for Quick Move, just press the shortcut and start typing the name of the folder to move your message to!
  • C for Quick Copy to quickly copy items the same way
  • T for Quick Tag to assign a tag - just start typing the name of the tag and press enter to assign it
  • R to quickly mark message as Read or Unread
  • G for Quick Switch to navigate to a specific folder
  • F to move to the Next message in the message list
  • B to move to the Previous message in the message list
  • N to move to the Next unread message in the message list
  • P to move to the Previous unread message in the message list
  • F9 to collapse/expand left pane
  • F10 to collapse/expand right sidebar

Too easy to press a keyboard button (such as R) with the wrong focus, and eM Client does something unintended. I would like a setting to turn the feature off.

Too easy to press a keyboard button (such as R).

Try then going to Shortcuts in Settings and assigning another key to that specific action.

Thanks, I tried that. I would like to change them all to use Shift+ or Ctrl+, but it won’t let me use them.
I would like to disable one-key shortcuts.

Just select a shortcut you want to get rid of and click on the cross icon on the right bottom, the shortcut will be deleted.

Ahh, thanks, that does it. One question - what does the shortcut “Quick action” do?

One question - what does the shortcut “Quick action” do?

Quick Actions are like Macros to quickly perform eM Client functions “with one click”, once you initially set them up via the “Toolbar” along the top. See the Quick Actions documentation online help below. So when you press Q it brings up a field to then “type a couple of letters” of whatever quick action you want.

https://www.emclient.com/webdocumentation/en/10.0/emclient/default.htm#Quick%20Actions/Quick%20Actions.htm

Quote extract from the above documentation.

“The Quick Action feature is designed to help you finish more work in less clicks. You can specify an order of actions with steps that should be performed when you use your select keyboard shortcut or select the Quick Action from the main toolbar”

Thanks for the explanation.
