new install - upload mail to new IMAP server?

We are currently running POP3 and want to shift to IMAP. Once I import my old PST to EMclient (works great!), and set EMclient to IMAP, when I sync with my server, will EMclient upload all the mail to the server?

A prerequisite is I will delete all mail on the server to avoid dups.

Actually, you can set the same account twice. One using POP protocol and second using IMAP. Afterwards you can copy/move messages from your local folders to the server easier.
