Native centralized search folder for multi-account spam/junk mail management

Hello everyone,

I use eM Client to manage several email accounts, around 20, for both work and personal needs. For this reason, having an organized, fast, and secure email workflow is very important to me, especially when dealing with junk or spam mail.

At the moment, I have manually created a search folder that collects the various spam/junk folders from all my email accounts. This workaround is useful, but it is still a manual setup and it is not specifically designed for the security needs typically associated with junk mail.

For this reason, I would like to suggest the introduction of a native centralized junk/spam mail view, available by default in eM Client, able to automatically aggregate the spam/junk folders of all configured accounts.

This dedicated view could include specific features designed for spam management, for example:

  1. Protected opening of suspicious messages
When selecting a message inside the junk/spam view, its content should not be automatically opened in the preview pane. It would be preferable to show a warning first or require explicit confirmation, in order to reduce the risk of accidental exposure to harmful content, tracking pixels, or potentially dangerous messages.

  2. Quick selection through checkboxes
It would be very useful to have checkboxes for selecting messages, including groups of messages, so that large amounts of spam could be deleted quickly without having to manually select each email one by one.

This kind of feature would be especially useful for users who manage many email accounts, as it would make it possible to periodically check all junk mail from a single place, with tools that are faster and safer than a standard folder or a manually configured search folder.

Considering how advanced eM Client already is, I believe that a native, centralized, and security-oriented junk mail management view would be a very consistent improvement with the overall quality of the application.

You can easily see and manage all your various account Junkmail quickly in Favourites Global Folders via enabling that in Settings.

If you don’t have Favourites enabled at the top left, then in V10 go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Folders” and check Favourites box. In V9 go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / General” and enable “Show Favourites Folders”.

Hi Cyberzork, thank you for your support, I didn’t know about this favorite folders option, but it doesn’t add anything compared to the system I’ve used so far.

Both the spam favorites folder and the search boxes that I have always used do not adopt any type of precaution to prevent spam emails with malicious content from opening automatically, and do not have (like the search boxes) checkboxes to select emails in groups, very useful when you receive hundreds of spam emails a day, but also with non-spam emails that should not be deleted.

There is an option in the upcoming eM Client 11 where you can enable to “not automatically open the first message” to then avoid loading any possible malicious content in the email.
