Missing inbox messages

After updating to 6.0.20617.0, I watched as all but a few messages in my Inbox disappeared.  I can see via the web that they are still on the server.  They also appear on my iphone, but just not in em Client on my PC.  Checked other folders (archive, local, etc.) but they are not there either. Repeated syncing doesn’t help.  Any ideas for fixing?

Follow up note: using IMAP and these settings have been working for months.

Problem resolved by rebooting.  Sorry to bother you on that one, but still there may be a bug that caused the messages to disappear in the first place.  No further response needed.
