Missing emails version 8

I just accepted an “update”, which, after installing, happened to be a new version of eMC. Surprise: all of the emails that I kept appear to have vanished. How in h*** can I get back to version 7 of eMC?

the eM Client 8 update should bring over your data automatically.
Has the storage location perhaps accidentally changed? You can change it back in Menu>Settings>General>Storage if you used a non-default storage location.
