Microsoft has been sending out emails to all its email users that they need to update their Sign-in technology, the email starts with these statements:
Update your sign-in technology before September 16th, 2024 to maintain email access.
The safety and security of your information is top priority for Microsoft. To help keep your account secure, Microsoft will no longer support the use of third-party email and calendar apps which ask you to sign in with only your Microsoft Account username and password. To keep you safe you will need to use a mail or calendar app which supports Microsoft’s modern authentication methods. If you do not act, your third-party email apps will no longer be able to access your Outlook.com, Hotmail or Live.com email address on September 16th.
Naturally, eM Client users are wondering if this applies to their Outlook.com accounts set up in their eM Client apps.

In short, eM Client does support and use the secure OAuth 2.0 method for sign-in, and has for many years.
If you are worried, the article contains steps to CHECK that your account uses OAuth - you will not see username/password in Menu>Accounts under General tab.
If you DO see the password field in the General tab, then the solution is to simply add your account again as a new account - using the Automatic setup will by default use the secure OAuth login,
