Messages Getting Garbled

I seem to have a problem. Every now and then there will be email that look like:

When you look at it, it’s HTML, but all the ,=, and " have been purged. If i open this email up in my webmail the email looks completely fine.

EM Client is set connect to the email server via IMAP connection. The same for the webmail. So I at least know the problem exists somewhere with EmClient and the connection to the mail server.

At first i thought it was the Avast Email Scanner, but that doesn’t seem to be it. As it’s not every email. It’s only random emails that are doing this.

In eM Client right-click on the message and choose Forward as attachment. Send it to me [email protected]

I’ve included both. What the email looks like once downloaded into EM client and from our web mail.

This email is just 1 of a few that have done this. It’s strange that it does this randomly. I’ve even seen it happen with email from another user in the system.

I looked at the message, and you are absolutely correct that the brackets etc. have been removed from the html. Nothing else in the message source looks out of place. Of course the plain text section of the message is OK, so if you view it as plain text, then it looks just fine.

Was this message downloaded from a server on your local network? Was that the same server where you viewed it using webmail?

I suggest that you open a support ticket for this, and have the developers look for the cause. There were some instances recently where servers were incorrectly configured, and this may be something similar.

We have email delivered to a external server for grey listing, spam filtering, ect. The mailboxes on that server are then retrieved using fetchmail and pulled into a local server.

The local server is where EmClient and our Webmail (SoGo) connect to. EMClient connecting to 192.168.9.23 and SoGO 127.0.0.1. So

Again i should also point out. It’s not every email. It’s random when emails start to do this.

127.0.0.1 is your computer. So unless the server is also on your computer, and your computer is 192.168.9.23, then that is not the same place.

But anyway, no matter where the webmail and IMAP servers are, I still think you should open a support ticket for this.
